Professional Photographer | Former Law Enforcement Commander

With more than 25 years as a professional photographer and a distinguished 30-year career in law enforcement, Vic DeSantis brings a unique combination of visual artistry, leadership, communication, and professionalism to every portrait session.

Vic served with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office from 1993 to 2023, retiring as Commander of Criminal Investigative Services, where he provided executive leadership over the agency’s major investigative operations, including Homicide, Sex Crimes, Digital Forensics, Economic Crimes, Narcotics/Vice Investigations, and the Fugitive Task Force. He is a highly decorated law enforcement professional and recipient of the Law Enforcement Medal of Valor.

His professional background has shaped the way he approaches photography. Years spent communicating with people in high-pressure situations taught Vic the importance of listening, establishing trust, reading people, and putting them at ease. Those same qualities are essential in creating authentic portraits—particularly when clients may not consider themselves comfortable in front of a camera.

Vic holds a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Barry University. He is a Dean’s Scholar graduate of the 111th Administrative Officers Course at the Southern Police Institute at the University of Louisville and a graduate of the 27th Command Officers Development Course through FBI-LEEDA.

Today, Vic combines his extensive photographic experience with the leadership and interpersonal skills developed throughout his career to create portraits that are polished, authentic, and meaningful.

For Vic, great portraiture begins with trust. The camera comes second.
